The Literary Dinner Party Tag!

December 20, 2017

I was tagged by Lila over at The Cheapskate Bibliomaniac to do this tag.

Thank you, Lila, for tagging me!

In this tag, you get to be the host of a fabulous party and choose eleven characters from different books that you would invite to the dinner. Sounds pretty awesome, right? (Wrong. As I was writing this, a new plot bunny decided to show up.) (But this tag is still cool. XD )

Without further ado, let's get into the questions!

1. A character who can/likes to cook.

Cath likes to bake and we would need some awesome desserts.

2. A character who has the money to fund this party.

Are you assuming I don't have the money?
Its a potluck. No funding required. XD
(Great excuse to say I couldn't come up with anyone.)

3. A character that might cause a scene.

Puck from Sisters Grimm.

4. A character who is amusing.

Hawk from The Blood Race. (Is she supposed to be the girl on the cover?)

5. A character who is super popular.

Image result for cress marissa meyer

Cress is popular among the series. I know, you probably meant popular
in the actual book, but I couldn't really think of one I liked and this
seemed to fit better anyway. Everyone favors Cress.

6. One villain.

Image result for sisters grimm council of mirrors

The Master is a pretty evil villain.
If I have to invite one villain, it would be him.

7. One couple-doesn't have to be romantic.

Image result for winter marissa meyer

Definitely not romantic, but the friendship between Scarlet and Winter
is so underrated. Everyone needs a friendship like these two have.
They speak their minds and are brutally honest to the other.
Definitely would want them at the party.

8. One hero

Image result for the girl who could see kara swanson

Fern is heroic. So, I guess one of them.

9. One underappreciated character.

Image result for Cinder

Everyone seems to focus on Cress, which is why she's my popular character.
Cinder, however, is kind of left behind. Okay, this is becoming a Lunar Chronicles
party.

10. One character of your own choosing.

Image result for TOOTHLESS

Technically, How To Train Your Dragon was a book series first.
And Toothless, while not the adorable black dragon we know and love, was
in those books. So, by technicality, I can put him here.

Tag! You're it...

Faith P.
Faith T.
Gray Marie
Karyssa Norton

Who would you invite?
God bless y'all.
With love,

    1. I did make my header, but I found the profile picture online by typing in brunette cartoon girl. XD She kind of resembles me, so that's why I selected her. Congrats on 12,000! I hope you feel better soon. *hands you warm soup*

    1. Yeah, pretty much. XD I actually probably won't read any more from the author though. I got only two chapters through Renegades before stopping due to personal convictions. (Then I reviewed it to warn friends and hate began. XD)

However, I do recommend the four books. Just skip Fairest, which isn't necessary to read.

And Toothless because, well its Toothless. XD

    1. It got moved to spam! I'm sorry! I just fixed it now, but I'll answer to you one both anyway. XD. (I had moderation going for a little bit after the Goodreads issue that came up since haters were flooding my blog.)

I didn't realize it got moved. Sorry about that.

Peach pie sounds delicious. I will have to read that book soon.
      I understand. Life is crazy!

    2. Ah okay no prob!

Yeah, I saw all the GR stuff going on. *pats your shoulder* there will always be haters. Sorry about that, it's annoying they would search you out and come all the way here!! Be happy though, bc the fact that there are haters shows you've done something difficult and stood up for what you believe :D <333

      Delete
    3. Actually, some extreme haters were posting links all over the place to old posts when I was into political stuff. I reverted those posts to draft because I want my blog to be about writing anyway. I had considered doing something with those posts. By them doing that, it brought people here who were passive at first, then aggressive when I wouldn't respond. :/

Thank you. I wasn't going to back down, but now I've made it so only friends can comment on my book reviews on GR. It will be better that way since that was the point of my review.

    4. *nods* I know it's hard with controversial issues and one has to decide at some point how far one will go expressing their opinions. Nadine Brandes once wrote a gorgeous post about why she doesn't talk about politics online and a lot of what she said was so true. Not that people shouldn't talk politics -- they just should be willing to put up with disagreeing (sometimes hateful) people *shrug*

      Delete
    5. I will have to look for that. I think I prefer just not talking about it, though I am willing to talk with people I don't agree with as long as they're nice about it. People were being extremely hateful. I was getting messages from a bunch of people telling me I need to stay strong. Some people who messaged me didn't agree with me, but they didn't think I was wrong in what I said.

I like talking to people I agree with and people I don't agree with as long as the conversation isn't mean.

But I think I would rather be someone who tries to be loving with everyone than talk politics because in the end, politics don't really matter.

    4. When the second book comes out, you might be able to get free shipping for both on Amazon. It might be the required price.

Do you like working? What is your job? (Not a specific place because I'm sure you want to keep that private, but in a broad sense, what do you do?)

I love how they're so similar yet so different. AHHH, I NEED IT TO BE PUBLISHED ALREADY. XD

    2. It's nothing too personal, it's just been rough lately. Really rough. :\
I remembered what you said about just commenting anywhere if I needed someone to talk to. I thought an older post would be best. I hope I'm not bothering you. I know January can be a busy month.

    3. I'm sorry. :/
No, you're not bothering me. January can be busy, but at the moment, I'm not doing much.
Just remember you will get through this. Life goes up and down, but I think the lower parts are what make you stronger and wiser. :) <3

    4. Thanks. <3
Do you have a favorite verse or is there one that seems to get you through hard times?

      Delete
    5. I have a few, but I tend to look new ones up with whatever emotion I'm feeling. Jeremiah 29:11 has been a help, but I know that one can be cliche sometimes. Psalm 46:1-3, Luke 12:25-26, and I often use Bible Gateway either the website or the app. They have many different versions of the Bible for free. I love NLT, but I'm currently reading NKJV.
Joshua 1:9- "Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

If you ever need me to pray for you, which I've still been doing, or you need more Bible verses, don't hesitate to message me. I usually check my comments every day. Or feel free to use the contact form below if you'd rather talk in private. I never share email addresses.

      God bless you! <3

    6. Thank you so much for those verses. <3 Yeah, Bible Gateway is basically the only bible app\website I use.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 is so special to me. People tend to use the beginning of that scripture a lot, but it gives comfort and it seems to take that fear away. During the lull of my depression, Proverbs 3:6 is my safe house.

Thank you for the prayers, Ivie! <3 It means a lot that you take the time to do that for me. :) I'll make sure to get in touch.
Thank you, and God bless you as well! <3

    7. Yes, people tend to use that verse because it is very easy to remember, which there's nothing wrong with that, but I know its used a lot. Proverbs is such a wonderful book as well. I've heard reading a Proverb or a Psalm a day is very good to do.

You're welcome. I hope you have a wonderful week and if you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to reach out. <3
